Interviu Metalhead Meeting Festival 2017: CreTura

Of The Seventh Golden Star".

CreTura are misiunea de a incheia METALHEAD Meeting Festival 2017 si pregateste un show special ce va incepe duminica, 25 iunie, la ora 1:15.

METALHEAD: Hello and thank you for taking a little time to answer a few questions for our readers. Is this the first time you come to Romania?

CreTura: Hello and thank you for your time! Yes we’ve been to Romania not so long ago. We did a european tour in 2017 we went to Arad, Sibiu and Svisthow. It was a cool experience.

METALHEAD: What kind of energy you expect from the Romanian public?

CreTura: We expect nothing, we hope for everything! There is a difference between club shows and festival shows and this is a new experience for us. And we’re very excited to represent Norway!

METALHEAD: How would you describe your music to somebody who has never heard your band before?

CreTura: Cretura plays under the banner of symphonic extreme music. And we tend to answer this sort of question with: If Dimmu Borgir and Nightwish had a bastard child it would be Cretura!

METALHEAD: What is your favourite song to perform live?

CreTura: It differs from every band member, but Reign Of Terror, Voices Of Hunger and Pray For A Brighter Tomorrow is high on the list with everybody. Which is probably why they are all always on the setlist!

METALHEAD: What are the main elements that inspire your work?

CreTura: Our debut album “Fall Of The Seventh Golden Star” is a grand epic tale about the end of the world. Told through fiction, facts and history. We used thematics such as Dante Alighieri, Sámi Mythology,Mayan history and beliefes, Nihilism and all that good stuff. In short the whole album puts forward a message of awareness and that history is always repeating itself. We have to change for the sake of our own souls and the one after us.

METALHEAD: What do you think is your biggest achievement as a band and what was the biggest problem that you had to overcome as a band?

CreTura: Our biggest achievement to date is this festival for sure. We’ve worked hard constantly for about 3 years now, going on our first tour in Germany in 2014, got signed to Worm Hole Death Records, recorded our albums, did our first european tour, did our first Norwegian television performance, did our second european tour and now aiming for this festival show. And we don’t take any of it for granted. As far as our biggest problem as a band it was during our first european tour. We did our show in Denmark and just before load out was about to happen we discovered that our tour van had been stolen. So we had to get all of our equipment on a boat and stay there for 8 hours or something like that on our way to Oslo in Norway, and then get on a train just in time to reach sound check for our album release show in Bergen, Norway at Garage. It was intense but we made it happen!

METALHEAD: How do you feel about the internet in the music business and how important are live concerts for a band nowadays?

CreTura: Internet spawned a revolution in marketing opportunities for everyone. Also it made it much easier to connect to the world between different countries. It has it’s good sides and it’s bad sides of course. For Cretura it has only been a good platform. Live Concerts is of course way better. They are important as well not only for the bands so that they can tour, sell merchandise, make money and so on, but for the people that needs escapism, an outlet, and to feel connected to something. Find a sense of belonging. And they find it when they attend music shows. We say this with certainty because we have all been and still are concert audiences. And it won’t die out for lots of years to come! And if we use technology smart, it will only get more interesting, out of this world like and magic!

METALHEAD: Share with us your top five underrated bands that people should start listerning right now. :)

CreTura: I can’t really say much about underrated bands because I don’t know who is considered underrated in the metal genre. But I would like to take this opportunity to share a couple of bands that we’ve been affected by in one way or another and that deserves more exposure: Fairy (Norway), Angelseed (Croatia), Lubaris (Poland), Maat (Germany) Soulglass (Finland). All have unique music and talent!

METALHEAD: What are you preparing for your show at Metalhead Meeting Festival (new songs, anything special related to your performance)?

CreTura: We’re only playing songs of our debut album, we usually throw in a cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name of Iron Maiden when we do shows but for this festival we want to just showcase ourselves and our music. To try to be as honest as we can musically. Our setlist is going to be one of the heaviest we’ve done with elements of black metal, death metal, thrash metal and all sorts of in “betweenners”.

METALHEAD: Thank you for answering, is there any message you want to send those who will come to see you perform at Metalhead Meeting Festival?

CreTura: Thank you! Cretura is closing the festival on the 25th around 01:00 and for those sticking around getting the cheap beer we will make sure to end it all with a bunch of head crushing metal songs for everyone to indulge in with their mind, heart and soul!
